Just a little update.

Hi All,
Gosh, what a beautiful day!!!  I have the windows open and actually wore jeans and boots this morning!  I love this type of day where it's chilly in the morning but just right in the afternoon.

I've had several questions this week about preschool, moving, etc.  Thought I would take a few minutes to give a quick update.

Preschool:
Still loves it!!  She is always excited to go and thinks the morning goes by way too fast.  She really loves her teachers and is starting to learn all of the kids' names.  She already has a best friend.  On the third day, while playing outside at recess, she asked a little girl what her name was and they hit it off. Her name is Charli and Ry talks about her non-stop.  When I pick her up from class and her friends are all saying "Bye Rylee", she just says, "Bye Charli!".  Both her teacher and I remind her to say good-bye to ALL of her friends.  I hope she isn't driving Charli nuts....sounds like she tells her every day that she is her best friend and gives her hugs.  We even have to wait outside of the building to tell Charli good-bye for a second time every day.  Crazy girl!  We did find out that Charli will live close to us when we move, as will another boy from her class.  This is great news, as Rylee didn't want to move to the country because "There aren't any kids in the country."

I am getting to know some of the parents, particularly the mother of the boy who will be our neighbor.  They were excited to learn a family with young kids was moving into the house we bought.  We are equally as excited to get to know them better.  I have also recognized several other parents and a teacher from Rylee's school....a classmate from high school and a couple people I knew at UNI.  It's really starting to feel like home and we couldn't be more excited for our new adventure!

With Rylee in school four mornings a week and Wyatt in "school" two mornings a week, I get two mornings "off" :)  I won't lie, I look forward to these mornings!!  So far I've gotten to go to Target without kids, the grocery store without kids, and clean house without kids.  This has all been heavenly!!  This morning was really awesome as I went to a farm antique sale in a cool old barn in the country with James and then checked out some of the local shops in our new hometown.  I found some really neat stuff for our new house!!  I got a chair for $9 that I was going to pay $70 for at Homemakers!  I also found a cute pink nightstand for Rylee's room for pretty cheap.  I can't wait to visit these shops again once we get moved and know what else we will need.  I was surprised at what all our small new town has for shopping!  #ShopLocal

The Move:
We are less than three weeks from closing...EEEEKK!!  We are so excited, we can hardly stand it most days!!  Everything is going smoothly so far.  We still haven't found anyone to sublease our current house though - that's stressing me out big time!!

James has met and been in touch with the sellers of our house and they are so happy to have a young family moving in -- that was their hope.  They also asked if we would be willing to keep their cat. Apparently Heidi, the cat, owns and runs that farm and she isn't wanting to move ;)  We are happy to take care of her, of course!

I mentioned previously that the new house has blue carpet and green countertops.  I originally thought I would update those right away, but at this point I just want to get moved and settled and am not thinking about updates.  We keep discussing how messy our kids are and that we have one more to potty train yet -- new flooring can wait!  It will be nice to get rid of the carpet at some point though since the current owners have several indoor pets.

We got rid of so much furniture when we moved from Truro because we were planning to build a much smaller house.  Since this house is bigger than what we planned to build, it's going to look very empty even after we move in!  That's okay though...I like empty space better than clutter.  We will eventually get it filled.  Our realtor sold us a couple of recliners she was getting rid of and we've had a few others give us some furniture.  I really want to get a dining table and bar stools sooner than later, but we're working on it.  The folding table and chairs is working just fine for now ;)

If anyone wants to help us move or knows someone looking for a house to rent in Ames, let us know!!

Okay, I think that's it for now.  Rylee is asking me to do something with her -- guess I will :)  I definitely miss that little bug when she's gone at school.  Yesterday I was wishing so bad that I could text her...I had something I just had to tell her and I didn't want to wait!  :)

Go Cyclones!!
