So, I got my hair done last night. It's always a highlight of my day. I look so forward to all of my hair appointments! Luckily with it shorter, I get to have more of those! Of course, this also means spending a lot more money -- meh, it's whatevs -- as I heard a girl there say last night.
I cannot decide I what I like most about getting my hair done:
1) having someone else do my hair
2) the scalp and neck massage
3) feeling wonderful after a fresh cut (and in this case color too)
4) the smell of my hair after I leave the salon
5) smelling my hair for the next couple of days
6) how good my hair looks when I leave
7) how good my hair still looks the next morning
I think I'm going to go with #8 -- all of the above! I will also add that last night was super awesome, because they were playing early 2000 music. But, seriously -- why does my hair never look and smell as good when I do it myself, even if I use the same products and tools?!?! And how in the world do they make it still look so good the next morning?!?! Hairstylists are MAGICAL, that's the only explanation!! My friend who used to do my hair before I moved says it's just because someone else did it. Whatever the reason, it's worth the crazy money to look extra good for 2 days :)
I had my stylist straighten my hair this time. I've been wearing it curly, exclusively, since last summer. It's fun to see it straight again...especially since I didn't have to do it myself :) I also had it colored for the first time in a couple years -- had to hide the ridiculous amount of gray I was getting!!

Rylee goes to prek four days a week. She brings home school work almost every day. This equates to approximately eight papers a week, often more. I feel really bad, (not really), but I throw 98% of it away. I leave it on the counter for about three days and then I toss it. I make sure to look it over thoroughly, noting any changes in her work. But, I just can't keep all of that. I don't really see any reason to. Is this bad?!!? Should I be keeping it for some reason I'm not thinking of?!?! I don't really care about any of my work from when I was a kid, so I doubt she will care as an adult either. I always have this tiny bit of guilt though when I toss it into the trash. I do keep a few of her things from time to time..artwork that I like and words she has written very clearly.
What do/did you do with your kids' school work?!?!

Feel no guilt! There will be 13 years of papers!!! Artwork - consider picking your favorites, buy frames and use them as your wall art. My sister has a wall for each of her kids and has added it to over the years. Quite impressive! Love your blog!
